We’re starting to wrap things up for the upcoming Fall issue of Vain Magazine. Our guest editor is Ben Tanzer from This Zine Will Change Your Life. Look forward to his twist on our already twisted zine. If you’ve been thinking about submitting some work, this would be the time to do it. Send us your poem. Your short story. Your photograph. Your song. Your sketchbook doodles. Your fingernail clippings. Whatever you’ve got, send it. We look at everything.
Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, September 2nd. (Anything we get after that will be considered for our Winter issue.)
For those of you who are more interested in reading the fine submissions than creating them, we must apologize because Vain has been flying off the shelves faster than we can send reinforcements! It’s not too late to order a copy of the Summer issue or any of our back issues online, or check out the full listing of brick-and-mortar locations. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

Vain is proud to introduce the first handmade issue of Vain Magazine. We’ve untangled all of our electrical cords, filed the massive heaps of paperwork once occupying our desks, and made room for a new printer, binder, and paper cutter. And we’re more in love than ever with the outcome!
We’d also like to introduce our first featured short film. Alexandra Roxo, writer, director, and producer of Out of the Blue has been a leading force for film in the Northwest. It is an honor to feature her in our publication. Details can be found on page 35 of the summer issue.
Listen to and download songs from Seattle artists Goat, The Torn ACLs, Jerin Falkner, and Switchblade and the Surgeon on our music page.
